Anthony Erangey
Anthony Erangey is a successful real estate agent for Baird & Warner. Baird & Warner services Chicago and the metropolitan area. They have 29 offices across Northeastern Illinois. Anthony often finds himself as a “coach” for his clients purchasing and selling their property. He is heavily focused on residential real estate.
Anthony attended and graduated from Illinois State
University. His major started as premed. Midway through his undergraduate career he
realized his heart wasn’t in medicine anymore.
He decided to pursue his education with marketing. He decided to go into real estate after his
wife switched careers from working at CH Robinson. Even though CH Robin is a great company to
work for she knew she wouldn’t be their long term. They made the mutual decision to open their
real estate company under Baird & Warner together to become a successful
dynamic dual.
To become a realtor, you will have to take classes and then
a test. The classes are 75 hours with a
final exam at the end. When you pass you
can be an independent contract with a broker, or you can work for a firm. Anthony suggests doing your research into
which firm you would like to work with. If you decide to become realtor, you will have
the flexibility to be able to set your own schedule. You can either work part time or you can work
full time depending on your schedule.
You will have to ability to make as much money as you proceed. The downside is, the steady structure on the
money flow. If you hustle and stay focused,
you will not have an issue with that.
Over the years Anthony has had many mentors. A main one is his wife who has always been
there helping throughout the ways whenever possible. Rebecca who is a manager at Baird &
Warner is another one. And every 2 weeks
he will jump on a call with Gretchen to review any concerns or if he needs advice. He has expressed that learning the job from
other mentors is very important. If you
learn the right way you will be able to build your client base the right way. However, he has emphasized that the real
estate business is all based on trust.
You MUST have your clients trust to build and be successful. One of the biggest purchases or sells will
lay in your hands.
Having a strong work ethic, being a social individual, working
with a great brokerage, and of course having his wife motivating and cheering
him along the way are all the reasons on how Anthony has been successful.
Having a work life and personal life balance is extremely important especially
when you work with your partner. Often
you might find yourself talking about work at home when it is family time. Which could be good, but it could also have
its drawbacks. You should ultimately
have work life/personal life boundaries.
Anthony has designed a system that works for him and his family. And that is the zoon chart. It is a calendar he uses at work and at
home. The “green” days indicates the
days he is open for appointments for work.
The “yellow” days are days where he might have a family obligation so he
wouldn’t be able to appointments, but he will be available for phone calls and
check ins. And the “red” days are the do
not contact days. These days are often
when he is on vacation with his family or another obligation where he will not
be available. At this time the system
works for Anthony, and he suggests to try it if you are having difficulties
balancing.
