Kristin Harvell
Kristin Harvell is an account executive that covers the Chicago and Minnesota territory for New Horizons. New Horizons is the world’s largest independent IT training company. They work on a 3-pillar model. IT systems from basic application and desktop productivity tools to complex IT systems, computer training, and career and professional development that provides leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and communication. Kristin will hunt and find business to work with them, hire employees for her clients, and provide training programs for potential employees.
Kristin started with a career in sales. However, she didn’t believe she was the right fit for sales. She would often hear and agree that there were no good leads making her job/position difficult. It was then that she changed her mind and went to pursue her degree in business management and marketing. She picked marketing because she felt the business info that would be sent, would go to the correct targeted person. Kristin is good at linking people to the right position. How you bring information to someone is different. Also, how you present the information is different depending on who you are trying to reach. Kristin has learned something different with every position she has taken on. When she starts a new job/position she will always ask herself, how can I grow? How can I improve my income? She has become an expert or will seek great resources to succeed.
Reaching the right audience at the right time can be the hardest obstacles Kristin faces in her career. If you stay prescient and offer something new eventually your audience will listen to you. Up until last year she didn’t have any mentors. Kristin now has a mentor who is a female entrepreneur. Her mentor has helped woman for over 40 years find success and helps with business issues and new and creative ways to sell.
To be successful in the recruiting business you should have a servant heart. It will be rough in the beginning, but you can still be successful. The career requires you to have personality. Try different products and teams until you find the right fit. Once you find the right fit you will be happy and start making money. Kristin has put in a lot of effort into her career to succeed. She starts every morning with a positive attitude and willing to help others find the right fit for them. She loves where she works and what she sells so her career comes easy and naturally to her.
Kristin use to work all the time and found that she would
have little time for herself. She now
uses Oola which is a digital app. The
app will help find where you are spending most of your time and will help try
to balance your time. Having a work
life/personal life is very important.
Until Kristin discovered the app she didn’t have the balance. Now she does and has times for herself while
still accomplishing her professional goals and dreams.
