Kareem Rogers

Meet the owner of HR Depot LLC, Kareem Rogers.  HR Depot, LLC is a career service.  They help their clients land their dream job through resume writing, and career coaching.  Kareem will also help build your LinkedIn profile to make it stand out.  His end goal is to improve the quality of his clients’ lives.

He knew growing up he wanted to major in business in college.  At first, he thought he would focus on marketing but instead Kareem took a liking to business administrative.  Business administrative gave him experience in different business fields.  One of his mentors, when he was a Sr in college recommended, he tries HR.  Kareem originally then went for Labor Relations – Industrial Relations.  Labor Relations main goal is to create a better relationship between businesses and labors.

As of to date his current position as an owner, is where he has learned the most.  It has taught him to follow his passion and allows him to be himself.  If you like what you do you will become great at it.  You will have the motivation to want to succeed and be the best you can.  As much as he loves what he does and the field he is in he found going to school and working gave him the most obstacle.  The workload of schoolwork didn’t give him enough “me” time to figure out if he liked business administrative.  He was too busy keeping up with school and working he never gave it a second thought.  Kareen feels that if he wants to switch degrees, he isn’t sure if he would as he was afraid of letting people down.  Which I have found from interviewing people it is a very common concern.

Kareem finds having a business coach has been very helpful with keeping him on track with his own company and making sure he is reaching his goals.  Mentors are very important to him and feels everyone should have them.  They have helped him avoid common mistakes and have helped him elevate to the next level of his career.

Always being a student and being genuine has made Kareem successful.  No matter what the task is he will go in with an open mindset to learning.  You might do it one way, but you can always learn how to do a task a different way also.  He is always willing to help people when he can and with what he can.  He receives pride and gratitude when he helps a client land their dream job with his help.  The best advice he can give is to always be willing to work on your craft.  You will mess up but never stop there and take it as a learning experience.  When a mistake is made find a way to improve it and keep working on it until it becomes great.  Always try to be the best you.

Try to keep your work life and personal life separate as much as you can.  If you job ends at 5pm or you have a set time for dinner/family time end your workday, then.  Even if you aren’t finished and you need to start the next workday early.  Try to schedule in advance the best you can so you know how your workday will look and you can plan accordingly.  Always keep a to do list so you don’t miss something.  And always listen to your body.  Your body will let you know when you need to take a break and have a day or two away from work.
